Funktified

Philippians 4:19

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

Above: Looks like a baby for sale add. lol

So tomorrow I start another week with no nanny. My Mother In Law has kindly offered to come over and watch Daisy for me tomorrow and if necessary I will take another day off until we get a response to one of the many e-mails we've sent out to local nanny gals. I'm still baffled by the absence of our last nanny quite honestly. Her phone is turned off and she hasn't been on Facebook in days. I pray that she is okay. When things like this happen that make my life that much more difficult it's tempting to want to moan "why me" or "this isn't fair" but, fortunately when I lean on the power of God's word and specific verses such as the one I quoted at the top of this post, I can feel a sense of calm amidst the storm. Yes, my mind is saying, "Man this sucks," but, my faith is telling me, "hold on to the promises of God. He will see you through just as He always has." It's tough to choose an attitude of gratitude on a daily basis especially if you are being dealt blow after blow but, it can be done! I'm so thankful for all of the Godly people who I have crossed paths with over the years who have shown me by their life example what it means to "walk by faith and not by sight" and to "rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice." Life is funky. It's up and then it's down and then it's all over the place but, God is never changing. He is stable, solid and steady through it all.

  1. Amen, sister! It's a hard journey we're all on, isn't it? But I try to tell myself if I just trust in God in all circumstances, especially the difficult ones, the reward will be mine. The reward might be here on Earth or He may wait until we meet in Heaven, but He has promised reward! Praying for you!

  4. I don't understand why your nannies keeping running away, but I have noticed that you have what you need for the time being and then God provides again. Yes, it stretches you beyond what you think you can handle, but you guys always pull through Casey! For all of you commenting and reading, as long as I have known this girl (and her great hubby) they have been patient and steadfast in the Lord...always a great example to many. I pray God gives you another Nanny quick and that your last is ok...by the way, LOVE your little Daisy pics...she is getting so big Casey!

  5. Casey, think of this as a God-thing maybe there is a reason she isn't returning and the Lord is protecting baby girl and family. We never know what the Lord is working on on our behalf. Hang in there!

  6. Amen Casey. I just want to suggest that you read Philippians 4 for a little more encouragement. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:6-7 Then there is 1Peter 5:6-7, "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." And last but not least, Jeremiah 32:17, "Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You." Hang in there and keep up the steadfast praying. And remember that when the darkness of stress, fear and anxiety come over you, to go to our Father and "cast all your cares upon him" and give him praise for the things that have come and that are yet to come. :-)

  9. Good luck finding a nanny! When you first posted that she never showed or called, I wondered if she was hurt or sick. I hope you find answers so you don't need to worry needlessly. I will pray that God sends you an angel to care for your angel!!
