Seven years ago today I married my high school sweet heart and my best friend. The years have gone by fast in so many ways and then in other ways they have gone by slow and I don't mean that in a bad way. Joey and I have enjoyed many adventures to Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and to so many states and various national landmarks. We both love traveling and look forward to getting back in the game now that Daisy is a little older and easier to travel with. I'm eager to explore Asheville, Georgia, Florida, Hawaii, Europe and Mexico!
From our days of flirting back in our keyboarding class as Juniors in High School, Prom drama, getting our first cars, cell phones, jobs, getting married young (I have NO regrets), getting cats and a dog and tons of tropical fish, making tons of new and wonderful friends, leaving our cozy home state of CA and moving to the unknown NC, buying our first home together, going through a hard loss of Joey's father shortly after moving here, waiting 6 years to have our first child, battling a long fight with depression AND through it all seeing just how glorious, faithful, loving and GOOD our God is. He has kept us steady, strong and on the same page through it all...sickness and health, joy and sorrow. Marriage is certainly not a perfect thing but, if it is nurtured right, it is a beautiful thing. It needs lots of care, attention, sacrifice, flexibility, growth, maturity, patience and most of all love. I love my husband. Joey is so handsome (isn't he!) which is an added bonus but, what I love most about him is his love for Jesus. I love the phrase, "Real Men Love Jesus," and I especially get a smile when I see a tough guy driving around town with that big bumper sticker plastered on their beefy truck. Our common ground and our bond is built on our shared love for Christ and on learning more about Him together. It's awesome!
Here's to 60+ more years baby! You rock my socks off! xoxoxo
